Each Tambani panel is a hand-embroidered interpretation of a folk tale of the Venda people of South Africa. Every panel is unique.

Gecko On The Wall Kit

In Africa it's always good luck have a gecko (or two) on the wall. They scamper around in the twilight eating the bugs and mosquitoes. And, of course, they are tremendous fun to watch!

This fun, wonky wall hanging uses hand-dyed Gecko fabrics from my friend Musa in The Gambia, complemented by hand-dyed Langa Lapu fabrics from South Africa.

This six-block quilt features a fish design which is hand-printed by my friend Musa in The Gambia. The other fabrics are hand-dyed batiks from West Africa.
