We will ask if you want to be added to our Emailing List and we will only add your details to this list if you have given your permission. If you subsequently ask to be removed from this list, we will honour your request.

Conformity of Goods

We work very hard to ensure that the images on the website of fabrics, cloths, beads, etc. are accurate representations of the items depicted.

However, customers should understand their personal perception of an image will depend on a number of variables, including: Computer graphics card and/or software, computer monitor, browser software, and even their own eye sight. In other words, everybody sees colours differently.

Also, some images on the website (such as our various Adventure Pack images) depict representative samples and not necessarily the exact item. Where ever this is the case, we make this clear to you.

Remember: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return your goods for a full refund. See Returns Policy, below.

Duty, Taxes and VAT

For orders shipped outside the EU:

• Any duty, tax or VAT that may be levied in the destination country is the sole responsibility of the recipient. We will not pay or refund any such levy.
• The declared value on any customs declaration form that we complete will be the true value of the goods. We will not fraudulently declare a lower value.
• All prices on the website include UK VAT (sales tax) at the current rate. We will not refund VAT.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel an order before it is shipped, we will refund your payment as per our Returns Policy, below.

We reserve the right not to refund if:

• Fabrics have been specially cut for your order.
• Fabrics or other items have been specially ordered for you from a supplier.

Returns Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return your goods to us for a full refund, subject to the following conditions:

1. Goods for refund must be returned and received by The African Fabric Shop within 14 days of the original shipping date.
2. When returning goods, the customer must pay the shipping costs.
3. Refunds will only be made after the goods are received and when the goods are unused and undamaged and in the case of textiles, unwashed.
4. We will try to process refunds within 30 days of receipt of returned goods.
5. All refunds will be value of goods only. We can not refund any money paid for postage, insurance, duty or tax.
6. If goods are returned and postage is due, this amount will be deducted from any refund.
7. If goods are returned from outside the UK and duty or tax is levied on these goods re-entering the UK, this amount will be deducted from any refund.
8. If goods are returned and subsequently lost or damaged in transit, no refund will be made.

Refunds up to GBP20

• Payment by debit or credit card - Credit note issued against future purchase.
• Payment by Paypal - Credit note issued against future purchase.
• Payment by cheque - Credit note issued against future purchase.

Refunds more than GBP20

• Payment by debit or credit card - Credit to your card account.
• Payment by Paypal - Credit to your Paypal account.
• Payment by cheque - Refund by cheque.

Post, Shipping and Insurance

UK Orders

Goods to customers within the UK will be posted First Class, unless special arrangements have been agreed in advance. Post and packing are calculated automatically by our secure shopping basket system, based on the total value of the order. For orders over £100, post and packing are FREE.

Non UK Orders - Europe and Rest of World

Goods to customers outside the UK will be sent by air by the most cost effective means, unless special arrangements have been agreed in advance. Post and packing are calculated automatically by our secure shopping basket system, based on the total value of the order. For non UK orders over £100 we cannot calculate shipping automatically. We will need to weigh your order and email you with your Order Total INCLUDING shipping and wait for your approval before processing your order.

Insurance

We will only insure goods at the customer's request. If the value of your order is greater than GBP100, we strongly recommend that you insure it. If requested, we will insure your goods and add that cost to your payment.

Billing and Delivery Address

As an added security measure, we will only send goods to the Billing Address of the card you used to pay for your order. This is the address you should enter when placing your order.
